Podcast #1: Invitcus

May 24th, 2007 — 8:42am

Wendy kicked the whole thing off: a group research project, where we each take on a subject, research it, learn how to do it, post about it, and form the ultimate blogger’s to do (and how to!) list.

I decided to tackle Podcasting. It is one of those things that everyone talks about, but I just could not find an easy explanation of what it was or how to do it. I unleashed my crack (or is it cracked?) research team on the task; we sat down in the secret annex and recorded our heart out and this is what I came up with.

This is a test podcast; you can listen to it using the player below or you can download it. If you want to know how I did it, I have a post explaining all that going up at 10am Central Time tomorrow.

So what is this podcast about, anyway?

Poetry.

A poem that I learned early on that made a huge difference in my life and philosophy was by a Victorian Englishman named William Earnest Henley. The poem is Invitcus, which is Latin for unconquered. I had to have something to record for this first ever podcast, so I read this short poem.

Please download it, listen to it, tell me what you think and let me know any problems you had.

NB: I know the speaker has a funny voice, but try to overlook that. :-)
