Just sitting out, being quiet for a few days. I will be largely offline as well. A lot of thinking, planning and so on, preparing for the new year. Be patient if I do not email you back immediatly.

Hedviga Golik disappeared in 1966. She just vanished. Or did she? Turns out, she has been sitting , quite dead, in front of her television in her own living room for the last 42 years.  I swear, I could not make this stuff up.

Great story in Wired about how fragile the tech underlying the web really is, and how we narrowly avoided disaster from hackers.

They are doing a re-make of the musical movie Fame. Is this really something that needs to be done, or are they just out of new ideas?

Stephen Baldwin has announced that he is not leaving the country after the election of Barack Obama, despite his threat to do so before the election. Now he says he was only kidding. Well, heck.

Some of my posts go wild in the comment box. If you, like 19 other people, recommended a place to eat in my recent call for restaurants and want to see if anyone else had better recommendations, now you have the option when you leave a comment to subscribe and get an email when someone follows your comment with a comment.  Just one more way I am wasting your time trying to make your life easier.

In the last 12 months, three people I went to high school with have died.  Forrest, Jason, John Cal… you guys went way too early.  I pray you have found comfort and peace.

Thanks to Ruby, I can now recognize the signs if my cat is plotting to kill me. Very funny (and a bit scary…)

In Missisippi, some students were threatened with punishment, including expulsion from school, for saying “Barack Obama”. Sigh… (thnx J!)

I am always amazed when I know people from different social circles, yet they already know each other…
