Hughisms
If you have been in business for any length of time, you have discovered certain rules that work for you. I have a rather long list of things I believe about business and life that I try to instill in my people: My employees have come to call them Hughisms.
They are short bits of wisdom (well, I think so, anyway) that sum up a rule or principle that has served me well in my life. A friend who reads this blog suggested I share them with all of you.
Rather than post a long list with commentary on each one, I thought I would make it a regular feature here on the blog, posting one at a time with commentary on each one. From now on, Hughisms will be a regular feature here on A Politically Incorrect Entrepreneur.
Do you have any rules of thumb or short rules of wisdom you believe in? If so, share them in the comments!

#1 – Perception is Reality
#2 – Focus is not narrow-mindedness, Priorities are not Exclusivities
I’m refining this one – Basics Before Bonfires.
It has nice alliteration but I’m not sure it is clear enough. It can be applied in two ways. The bonfire of a success or the bonfire after a failure.

@ Roger-
#1 is very close to one of mine: The way things seem is the way things are. I plan to talk about it on Monday.

1) Excuses are like a–holes, everyone has one and they all stink
2) When it is raining, don’t tell me it’s raining, build me the ark
3) “Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood” – fortune cookie.

@ Richard-
My Dad says #1 all the time, but he does not edit it as well as you did!

I’m just surfing around and trying to figure this blog site out. I wouldn’t mind reading some more Hughisms……if I can find them.
